Have You Ever Thanked God?

Have you ever thanked God?

For this life that He gave you on this earth?
For the miracle of your birth,
For being able to touch, smell, see, hear, walk and stand,
For being able to do the things you never thought you can,
For being able to wake up every single day,
Or did you just hurried by without even stopping to pray?

Have you ever thanked God?
For the parents that you have at home,
For the annoying siblings whom you think are troublesome,
For the grandparents you hardly ever visit,
For the relatives you don’t always meet,
What about the friends which are so rare,
Did you thank Him for all these people he has sent your way?

Have you ever thanked God?
For all the talents and abilities that you possess,
Have you put them to good use or just let it all go to waste?
He has given you more than you need in this life,
Did you share it with your neighbours, friends, husband or even wife?
Don’t compare but appreciate what you have and pray for those who have none,
Who knows one day, you may wake up and find it all gone.

Have you ever thanked God?
When everything was going ever so smoothly?
What about when your boss gave you a bonus unexpectedly?
Did you think of Him when you were at your happiest moment?
Did you utter a word of thanksgiving or just gave Him the ‘Silent Treatment’,
Surely it is easy to be grateful when life seems to be more than generous,
But more than often we tend to forget to thank Him for answering our prayers.

Have you ever thanked God?
For all the times when things seem to be on the gray,
For all the times when life seem to be less than fair,
When you were facing your worst storm ever,
Did you complain and rebuke God instead of trusting our Saviour?
Did you thank Him for the hardships He gave you to make you stronger, wiser and better?
Or did you shout, “Why me God?! What did I do to deserve such torture?!”
He says, “For I know the plans I have for you. Not plans to harm you but to prosper you.”
Maybe it’s time to reflect back when God was on earth, where he walked in our shoe.

Did you look up to heaven and have a heart filled with gratefulness?
Did you thank Him for His faithfulness and His promises?
Did you thank Him for all the wonders and miracles He has shown?
Do you know He'll never let you face what you can’t handle on your own?
Do you know He never left you when you took this route?
The proof is when He paid the price by taking His place on that wood.
  

Now it gets deeper as I ask this question,
Maybe you will find it useful in your daily reflection:

HAVE YOU EVER REALLY THANKED GOD?

For giving up something so precious,
He gave His only Son and nothing less.
A sacrifice that we often take for granted,
Yet He loves us endlessly and calls us “Blessed”.
We will never know how great His love is for us,
Until we kneel down and acknowledge that He is our Lord Jesus.
When we realize the victory for us that He has won,
Then we will start to appreciate and really thank God for all He has done!
